Washtubs, Buckets, Birdhouses---Wow! Today was a great paint day. I started a huge oval washtub Turquoise with Watermelon Slices around the sides. I haven't decided for sure, but am thinking about painting a large rooster standing on a watermelon on the bottom. Well, that will be tomarrow.  Blue-bonnets was the first order of business to be painted on the birdhouses. And, the buckets, well they will be an assortment of roses, wild flowers, and other flowers. My base background paint went up $5 a gallon. I guess some of that was for the gas prices to transport it. But, it is what it is & you do what you have to. Tomarrow is Friday and hopefully, I will find a used auto to buy. The motor went out in mine and I need another one. Well, just thinking out-loud. Tonight I will clean all my brushes in alcohol. And tomarrow is another day. Goodnight.

Colors: Well, I like South American bright colors-turquoise, amazon green, queens yellow, lime green, barn red, orange (I mean bright orange), hot pink, and lavender. These, I use for background colors. Then I paint flowers or whatever will pop with that color. I like to not paint in sequence or design; but, to mix it up a bit. My wonderful husband, Mickey, paints all my background color on buckets and washtubs. Plus he does the prep work: cleaning, sanding, and cutting the oil that is left from the galvanize process. Then he brings them into the studio and it is up to me to paint the design on. When I finish, he clears each piece with 3 coats of a marine sealant which we have found by trial and error. This particular sealant allows you to use any of my buckets and tubs with ice as drink coolers. There you have it---what my day is like. Have any ideas or suggestions, let me know. We also build and paint birdhouses. And hopefully soon I will have pictures of them. Once again Wimberley Market Days is always the first Saturday March through December. My booth # 284. Wimberley, Texas is in the Texas Hill Country where beauty abounds and the people are like family. Come see us.

Just walked through my studio and picked out some great washtubs to paint tomarrow.  I also have about a dozen buckets that I will paint tomarrow and 20 birdhouses.  I got a call today on barrels and need to pick some up tomarrow to paint. I am so glad my supplier of small barrels called.  I will paint cabbage roses, bluebonnets, wildflowers, and cactus. Also, Chickens will be my subject tomarrow. Pictures will follow soon. I will keep you posted. Do you have any suggestions? Let me know. See you tomarrow.
